'When events change who you are. your the one that can rewrite its meaning'.

Modern Key is set in Okinawa, Japan 1873.  A young Samurai meets a American Soldier who meet for a cultural exchange at his home. Young Samurai is troubled by the exchange of his Artwork. He later has a visit from a familiar person who reminds him about the Samurai way of life.

This is the first Film  at the acclaimed International Film School of Sydney (IFSS) for Mr Linney.

Modern Key is Jason Linney's first short film that is recognized on imdb. The film was originally entered into Tropfest 2011 with the signature 'key' in mind. The film was originally called 'Modernization'. As this film was not one of the finalists, Jason decided that the film would be best to represent those who've worked hard on it over the months.

Simply put the film will not be going silently into the night, celebrating Jason's & Co' latest achievement at the ever inspiring International Film School of Sydney.

We all thank the IFSS Staff for pushing us creatively and in our thought processes.

Jason Linney says "In the spirit of my film I will continue to make films as long as I can.  And as long as my films have an audience, I'm happy".
